Using Color Theory – Psychology to Persuade Website Visitors to Buy!

Color Theory – Colors evoke different responses in people.

When it comes to persuasion, emotion is the primary target. Color appeals more to people’s emotions than words or images, correct use of color will create a positive or negative user experience.

Red – evokes passion (love, red heart, kisses), aggressiveness (caution, warning, war), importance (red carpet, SALE) – it is a dominating color that adds heightened awareness. Did you know the color red increases blood circulation, breathing rates, and metabolism. Red should be used in small amounts and to attract attention to key elements on your website.

Orange is a good way to add excitement to a site without severity. It is generally playful, and creates haste and plays on impulse so it is often used on website buttons that say BUY NOW or CALL to persuade website visitors to take an action. It can also signify health, suggesting vitality and vibrance.
